Welcome to either your worst nightmare or a fabulous experience. All of that depends on you. Hire the right advisors (that does not include your family, your best friends or your neighbors), unless, of course, they practice as a Realtor®, a home inspector, a lender, a surveyor, a termite inspector or a home insurance advisor. 

Asking your close friends and family about housing is like asking them about how to do brain surgery, or higher mathematics, unless that is what they specifically do as a profession or have had specific training in that field. Remember, your friends and family want what’s best for you, (but don’t necessarily KNOW what is best for you)...especially if they have had no formal training. Each real estate professional (in their field of expertise) has often trained for years and learned from their successes and mistakes along the way. You want to capitalize on this experience.
