Sumner County Nashville TN Real Estate
By Real Estate Tennessee
Northeast of Nashville, Tennessee’s real estate, Sumner County is poised to welcome new residents to its wonderful lakes and streams, proactive and progressive thinking, and quiet neighborhoods. Westmoreland homes, White House homes, Portland and Mitchellville homes, Hendersonville homes, Goodlettsville and Millersville homes, and Gallatin homes are all in cities with 10,000 to 40,000 people. And, even young professionals from Nashville’s business sector are willing to drive the 30 to 45 minutes in rush hour traffic to be able to access the more secluded real estate in Sumner County.
That’s why Sumner is sustaining an average growth rate of over 9 percent since the year 2000. Gallatin is the County Seat for the population of approximately 150,000 people in the county, including those who prefer outlying farms and country estates near Nashville’s contrasting city elements. The median housing value is a modest $142,000 and median household income over $50,000. And that median price may include a few extra square feet, a larger lot, or some nice acreage.
Old Hickory Lake’s shimmering waters is reason enough for some to head this direction. With 26 miles of shoreline, residents can still find privacy camping out or fishing off of a dock. A long list of recreational activities in, on, and off the water await residents of Sumner County.
Nature is one draw, though the Southern palate also enjoys the variety of local theater, symphony experiences, wineries, a museum, and shopping for everyday needs. For variety, residents know they can always pack up and head to the city for nightlife, larger events, business meetings, youth competition, and the historical and musical venues so much a part of life in Tennessee.
One thing about Sumner County is that the people are making things happen. They meet and plan and discuss ways to move the county into a more economically stable and better-educated community. A grass roots leadership and vision coming from individuals and organizations is opening the doors for opportunities. There have been increases in the number of jobs, the emergence of one of the best school systems in the state, and modest property appreciation that is keeping in step with the needs of the communities.
When people want to be a part of the change, Sumner County will roll out the grass mat and cordially greet each one. That’s down-home hospitality for you.
