According to a complex study of large cities, families can expect successful relocation to Nashville real estate. Ranking as Number 2 "Best Cities for Relocating Families" out of a list of 50 large cities with populations of over 1.25 million, the strong real estate market in Nashville played a key role in the positive results of the collaborative study.
The state of the Nashville real estate market affects not only the cost and availability of Nashville homes for families being transferred but also the cost of offices and facilities for employers. The affordability index of Davidson County real estate—including Nashville homes and Nashville commercial properties—and ratios for prices, appreciation, and property taxes remains favorable.
Traditionally, factors such as the area’s cost of living, crime rates, education, and climate have been the prime focus of these types of studies. Other factors, however, also affect the ability of families to relocate to Nashville's real estate. Job growth and unemployment, school expenditures per student, test scores, air quality, watershed quality, sales taxes, and the ability to get settled into a new community are some other important factors influencing the quality of the relocation. Softer factors such as the arts and culture available in a city, racial climates, and medical care are now factored into these types of studies.
In today’s mobile society with a smaller technology driven workforce, companies are being compelled to understand factors that will make their decisions more competitive. And they are consequently looking closely at all of the components that are important to a transferred employee. The relocation experience is a major component.
The results of the study announced at the National Relocation Conference in Las Vegas in May 2007 were compiled by The Worldwide ERC, the association for workforce mobility; Primacy Relocation, one of the top third-party employee relocation providers in the world; and Bert Sperling of Sperling’s Best Places.
Looking to rate cities based on short-term and long-term factors that determine the likelihood of a successful relocation, the following professional organizations have been studying three sizes of cities: Large metro areas with more than 1,250,000; mid-sized metro areas with at least 575,000 people, and smaller metro areas with at least 350,000 people.
This area is proud to have achieved prominence as a destination location for families.
